Group Caesarean Education Classes

A class specifically designed for couples having a planned caesarean birth

Our Midwife-led sessions provide an opportunity for you to gain insights and knowledge on all facets of a planned or scheduled caesarean section.

The content of our classes is evidence-based, modern and interactive.

These sessions are geared towards parents expecting their first baby, however anyone wanting to gain further knowledge,

or those who have not had a caesarean birth before will benefit greatly.

Birth partners are encouraged to be present for these classes. In saying that, if you would prefer to go solo, then that’s fine too.

We recommend you participate in the course anywhere between 28-36 weeks’ gestation.

Topics Covered

The Lead up – Admission to hospital, fasting, anaesthetic types, the support crew present

The Birth – Theatre and the birth environment, birthing/receiving your baby, all the options!

Immediate Postpartum – skin to skin, the first feed and staying comfortable
✺

The First Forty Days – life after birth, parenthood and caesarean recovery

Duration: 2.5 hours (2:30pm - 5:00pm)

Location: Berth Geelong

Fees: $180 incl GST

($30 off for Berth Patients)

Private health rebates are available with

selected health funds (under extras).

In the case of a cancellation within 14 days of the course,

$100 of the course tuition is non-refundable.
